HOW TO MANAGE FONTS

Or, Why You Can't Depend On Windows

It's great having a ton of fonts from which to choose. Only thing is, there's a problem with Windows. Unlike most files, fonts have to be "installed" in order for you to use them. Start to get a lot of fonts - somewhere over 500 - and the Windows OS can start operating erratically or, worse yet, actually crash. Does this mean you need to stop downloading fonts at number 500? No way! Welcome to the world of font managers.

Here at Keystone Keyboard, we have tried dozens of free font managers but we have found that, for the best results, it's better to just bite the bullet and buy a font manager.  In particular, we use a great font manager called XFonter.  You can download a free trial version by clicking on this banner:

Once you've downloaded and installed a font manager, the next question is, "Where do I get new fonts?" Understand, not all fonts are free. There are people who earn their livelihood simply by creating and selling fonts. Still, there are tons and tons of free fonts. You just need to know where to find them. Luckily, you've come to the right place. Listed below are some links where you'll find fonts to download for free. Remember, though, don't install all the fonts you download. Place them in a folder all of their own and let the font manager handle the rest.
